Safety is the number one priority for this club. These rules will be covered and everyone is expected to follow them.
Listen to the coaches.
Our coaches number 1 priority is to make sure every kid is safe and accounted for. This is only possible if students listen to the coaches and follow directions. Failure to do so will result in contacting parents or removal from the program.
No headphones allowed at anytime.
Listening to music on runs can be fun and help the time go by faster. However, when earphones or headphones are in, it is extremely hard to be aware of your surroundings, which is important when running on places outside of the track. Music is allowed but must only be played on speaker.
Listen to your body.
If you are injured and it hurts to run, then don't. Talk to the coach and explain your injury and they can give you an alternate workout for the practice so your injury can heal. Running with an injury often makes it worse and takes longer to heal.
If you are completely new to running, choose a workout out of the three provided that sufficiently challenges you, but don't overdo it. This often leads to overtraining, injury, and causes people to prematurely quit the sport.
